Skull Flower IIIusion

This is a very good picture, you can probably see a Skull shape in a Rose. The rose is wilting, which fits perfectly with the skull shape. I think it is very representing of death. I quite like it, how about you?

2D Building Illusion

This Is a '2D' Building, if you have seen these before, you will probably know how they work. if you have not, jump down the post(:

This building is actually 3D, it just looks 2D when viewed at at a certain angle.
The solution is is that the building is actually triangle shaped. if you are viewing it at a birds eye view, the side you are looking at in the pic above is the bottom of the triangle.
it didnt take me long to figure it out, but it might just be because i have a very keen eye(:

Magnifying Square Illusion

This is a rather odd affect, as our eyes see it differently to the rest of the text. As you can see contour lines of a square over the 4 circles, your eyes believe the square of text inside is on top of the 4 circles, therefore making the square of text look like it is closer to you, when in fact its in exactly the same place as the rest of the text. I find this pretty amazing, do you?

Pizza On The Pavement Illusion

Im sure most of you out there love street-art, but if your not a big fan, sorry i keep posting them. I just love them too much. The Artist of this lovely art is called Julian Beever, Also the artist of my earlier post of the snail attacking a woman. I bet your hungry now, aren't you!

I also have to say a massive thank you to all those 90 visitors I have had already even though ive only had this blog for about 5 days(:

Cycling Mantis Illusion

Hey guys, sorry I skipped yesterday. To make up for it, I will post a few more posts straight after this one(: well, this one isn't much of an illusion, just a picture that caught my eye. the wonders of nature, what they can do(: Very clever, in my eyes(:

"Secret Paintings” by Igor Lysenko

Igor Lysenko is a talented Russian artist, who has been working as scene-painter at Drama Theatre for the past 12 years. More importantly, he specialises in double vision and “secret-paintings“. Each of the selected paintings below includes an element of surprise – a hidden motif, so to speak. Are you able to easily find it in each of his works? Try rotating them if you’re stuck! Is the surreal-atmosphere dominating Igor’s portfolio, or is it just me? I can’t exactly pinpoint why, but I get this impression a lot!

Subjective Contours

Another interesting illusion flew-in directly from Japan! As MindLab originally explains, non-existent contours are sometimes constructed by the brain to compensate for the missing sensory information. Check the four wheels in the second image – the “missing” parts can easily be mistaken as contours of the square, right? See what happens if we fill the missing segments with pink colored lines – the color seems to transparently spread throughout the inside of the contours. In same manner contour of a circle appears, right inside the center of the lines diagram to the right.
However, contours or surfaces don’t appear if we only see the colored segments. Curved line above is made of nothing but short blue lines and demonstrates this perfectly! Now, if we add longer black lines next to each side of blue bar, curved blue band with subjective contours appears! How amazing was that?

Swastika Shaped Building Found in Google Earth

You can find it yourself; just point Google Earth/Google Maps to: 32°40’44.16″N with 117° 9’42.89″W. Consider this as an interesting assignment, that will also try and teach you how to read geographical latitudes and longitudes. Google them if you don’t understand what they are… In short, these numbers represent co-ordinates of the certain, Earth location. I’m sure most of you already knew that, but remember there are many kids browsing this website everyday, and some of them weren’t yet introudced to this stuff.
The image to the left can be found as an illusion (coincidence?), or provocation done on purpose. As you might know, Swastika once represented the symbol of life and fortune in Hindu holly books – Vedas. Later it was adopted as Nazi symbol, representing horrible deeds and “visions” of Hitler. Recently, Hindus in Britain have started a campaign to ‘redeem’ the swastika from its Nazi past and reclaim it as the symbol of life and fortune it once was. I’m little sceptic on the results, but we’ll see… Allegedly, there was even a picture of a secret Swastika-forrest circulating the net. If you know the link and the story behind it, be sure to post it! Price Sicardsure also wrote: “I think this is the Navy SEAL training place!” (USA)

Its more than you think...

15/1/13 Check out Garner’s billboard campaign I came across earlier. No, it’s not just bikers – there’s much more going on if you look closer!
Comment if you see it(;

Aerial Photographed Giant Oak Tree Illusion

From the sky, it looks just like a giant oak tree lying on its side, but this fascinating image is partly down to nature and partly made by man. The remarkable shape of trunk, branches and foliage was created by a combination of storm damage and scars left on the landscape by forestry machinery used to retrieve logs! How about that! It’s amazing how nature works in mysterious ways!

Crop Circles To Another Dimension

Basketball Player’s Airport Shadow

Hmm, it looks like some giant basketball player lives at the Munich airport in Germany. This photo was taken by satellite, and can be found using Google Maps. Is this really a shadow or something else? My sanity says one thing, and my eyes believe something else. How did this occur? You tell me!

Ghost Cars Army Illusion

Let’s continue with today’s optical illusion. It is Google Earth related (not Google iPod). Anonymous submitter sent me this strange Google Earth snapshot. I’m somehow picky with all those Google Earth submissions I receive through my mailbox. Am not sure why exactly. However, this one I found rather interesting. Anonymous said: “This is more of a glitch than illusion, but here is a cars “ghost army” from google earth. The illusion is near Sydney, Australia and Balmain, New South Wales at 33°51′ 51.63″S, 151°11’11.69″E” Not only is that the cars appear ghostly, what interests me is what are they doing there at all? I understand how Google Earth satellite images often have mistakes in layers because of different times photos were shot, but how did this occur? You tell me!

Message From Paris Illusion

I don’t speak French, but these buildings look extremely similar to some alphabet letters, don’t they? Could it only be a coincidence? I really doubt it, they represent letters obviously. So, if anyone here knows French, help us and translate the meaning? Or did we all fall under illusion, and there is no hidden message. Every now and then someone finds strange Google Earth location, and mails it to me. I post only the best, and those that have anything to do with optical illusions. If you can find out, please tell us if it  means anything(:

Man Shaped Lake Illusion

This isnt really an Illusion, but I found this very interesting place in Google Earth. It is a man shaped lake in Sao Paulo state Brazil and the coordinates are: -21° 48′ 18.53″, -49° 5′ 23.92″ Its pretty funny!

Lake O Saurus Illusion

As you probably see, this aerial photo of a lake (location: Zagreb, Croatia – 45.78231, 16.024332) greatly resembles acreature of some sort. Gordan recognized a dinosaur figure, while I had more luck spotting an Alien from the same titled SF Movie. What do you see? A dinosaur, alien, alligator or maybe even a dragon?

Crop Circles are back in 3D!

Crop circles are back, and this time they’re in 3-D! Pretty cool! A floor of chequered tiles stretches down a long, high-ceilinged corridor with doors leading off each side. Andthe art of crop circles reaches a new height of sophistication. The astonishing three-dimensional design, 200ft in diameter, has been created in a wheat field at Silbury Hill in Wiltshire. Only yards away are the 5,000-year-old West Kennet Longbarrow burial grounds, one of the largest and most impressive Neolithic graves in Britain. I am not the biggest fond of aerial / Google Earth optical illusions, but these are awesome -they remind me of a portal of some sort!

Indian with an Ipod in Google Earth

I had this submitted by many people, but somehow forgot to publish it by now. In short – this aerial (or satellite) photo gives impression there is an ancient Indian listening to the iPod. Take it as you will, but the picture truly resembles something. Hey, wouldn’t this be amazing free advertisement for Apple? If I were in their marketing team, I’d really take advantage of it.

Pulsating Nightmare Optical Illusion

17/1/13
Originally titled “Here comes another seizure“, the disturbing background pattern used in this tremendous optical illusions comes from Tautvydas Davainis’s digital studio. I don’t know about you, but there’s something quite disturbing about it – it is as if I’m becoming more and more nervous while looking at it. Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of The Moon” cover was just plastered on top to make the illusion more interesting and spooky. It helps with focus and strengthens “pulsation” as well! Not sure what’s causing the illusion to be frank, but I suspect it has something to do with our eyes’ microsaccades (small involuntary eye movements we all experience, but usually don’t notice).

He's gonna get you!

15/1/13

This photo was taken somewhere in Europe, and I can’t believe I never saw it before – specially since the author behind it is one and only #Julian Beever, master of 3D pavement art. What you see below is a street and a plain stone bench occupied by an ordinary citizen and one unordinary creature. Both pavement and bench are partially covered by a chalk drawing. The drawing disappears in places, and at one point seems to bump into a metal pole. What I find so interesting about this anamorphic painting is it’s seamless transition between flat pavement surface and a bench. But I guess this all makes sense when you see it from another angle. Both photos are included!

Hey!

15/1/13

Hi illusions fans! since were new here i decided to post more than one illusion for you. enjoy(:
